Mia the Faire Maker (having a problem uploading pics...check back later)

MAKE: Void your warranty, violate a user agreement, fry a circuit, blow a fuse, poke an eye out...

Maker Faire: two-day, family-friendly event that celebrates arts, crafts, engineering, science projects and the Do-It-Yourself (DIY) mindset, including Swap-O-Rama-Rama, the King of Fling Catapult Competition, Edible Austin's DIY Food, Cyclecide Heavy Pedal Bike Rodeo, Pumpkin Playday, the Maker Store, and much, much more!

Mia was a maker at the Maker Faire. She made a shaker! She decorated a TP tube, a nice lady stapled one end closed, filled it with beans, then stapled the other end closed... Mia loved it and walked around shake, shake, shaking.
Another big hit was the life-size mousetrap. Remember the Mousetrap game? Inspired by Rube Goldberg. Well it was there, and it was cool. Mia and I rode on a rubber band powered car :)
Mia really dug the Furreal Pony by Hasbro...ok, I dug it, too. It moved and whinied just like a real little pony. We hung out at the Hasbro booth for a very long time. When it was time to go, Mia just needed a little time with some pebbles in the parking lot, then she was ready to go. After a great time at the Faire, we went out to eat. Mia had some yummy baked fish and veggies. Note to self: must cook up some fish for the family. Mia went napless all day, so she hit the hay pretty early and pretty hard. Once she was in bed, I baked and decorated Daryl's birthday cake for the birthday celebration in Dripping Springs the next day. I also baked 6 dozen of his favorite cookies (strawberry , white chocolate chip & oatmeal cookies) to be eaten sporadically :)
