Waterloo...I think I love you

Sunday found us once again at Waterloo. Same yummy food, same fabulous friends...besides being a little chilly, it was damn near perfect. Daryl and Josh supplied many quarters to the tots so they could play pinball, Ms. Pacman and some driving game...Ben is actually super at! After breakfast, Mia joined Josh and Ben in her first official game of hide n go seek. She likes to be the one who counts to ten....a kid who doesn't mind being 'it'...I imagine she'll be popular in school :)

Bonnie and I took advantage of the overcast day and pretty much stalked the kids with our cameras...I know, I know...what's new? If you're wondering were Daryl is in all these shots...well, he likes to duck out of the frame..a LOT!

Happy Birthday Sam!!!!

A couple of days ago Sam turned ONE! Sam is one of Bonnie's (that's Sammy with the purple hat on her site) boys, and he's just a fabulous kid. Totally easy going and happy as a clam. He's one that could make even the sourest sourpuss smile. Ben fixed his own plate of jalapenos, pickles, lemons and onions! Sam ate up his slice of birthday cake with a fork. He looked directly at Josh and said 'Dada' for the first time. Sweet Anja filmed the whole celebration. Mia got hooked on photography. There was so much fun had by all. I posted a couple of shots yesterday, and here are some more of my fave shots of the sweetest little boy (not a baby any more) ever with his family and friends.

Bonnie's Guys

I always look forward to hanging with my lovely friend, Bonnie. When our families get together there's always this laid back vibe that makes for a nice time.

These are Bonnie's guys: Josh, Sammy and Ben (well, his feet on Sam's new ball). They were all watching Bonnie taking a portrait of another fabulous family, the Simon's. Taking amazing shots is one of Bonnie's forte's. I'm sure they guys have watched her take thousands upon thousands of photos, but they are still so captivated by what she does...that and the Simon's were making silly faces at the camera :)

I picked this shot for my best shot because I just dig the easy feel of it.

It's pretty much a known fact that I have a photography addiction. Our fabulous friend and brilliant photographer, Bonnie has enabled me once again! First it was this beautiful 24x36 canvas of our little family that's hung over our fireplace with care. I wrote a little bit about the day Bonnie delivered it here.

Yesterday, she did it again with these two 16x24 canvases of Daryl and me. We've moved the turtle (my belly cast), and hung these gorgeous canvases directly over out bed. Daryl LOVES them and didn't make the money face even once. Mia totally digs them. She sits there and points back and forth saying 'daddy mama daddy mama mama daddy' as fast as she can until she jumps into our arms and says 'daddy, mama, my friends, my family'.

Thanks Bonnie, we LOVE you!

Best Shot Monday ~ Fountain Fun

If you were looking for us on Saturday morning, you would have found us at the Farmer's Market. Mia and I hooked up with Bonnie, Josh, Ben & Sam. We ended up at our usual spot, the fountain. Ben and Mia played around the fountain, but not in it. When I took a spin with Mia around the fountain, I figured out why...it was freakin' cold! Water sprays + shade + a slight breeze does indeed = chilliness. The kids played, Bonnie and I chatted, Josh so very kindly fetched us all Jim Jim's. Good Times. I guess Mia needed a rest, so she climbed into the BOTTOM of her stroller. There were a few other cute moments that I caught with my good ol' P&S:

Best Shot Monday - Strawberry Shortcake

Our dear friend Bonnie is turning a year older, so we got together to celebrate the fabulous occasion. Strawberry shortcake was the dessert of choice, and she told me just where to buy it...the shortcake part...Daryl inspired me to make the whipped cream...no Cool Whip for our gal! I also added sugar to some strawberries...and viola! Strawberry shortcake!


There were several awesome shots, but my Best Shot Monday HAS to be this shot of Bonnie's husband, Josh, going to TOWN!

Looooooooooooooook what we got today!!!!!

this shot was taken across the room, 1/2 way down the stairs and doesn't to the photograph or Bonnie much justice

It was SO awesome when Bonnie put that gorgeous picture of our family on our mantle. I piled some cushions on the floor and just lay there staring at it for a LONG time. Daryl couldn't believe how amazing that shot looked on that big ole canvas!!!

Yay!!! Happiness!!!! 24 x 36 inches of HAPPINESS!!!!!!!!!
