Reunited

I've been an official Gleinser for a little over three years now, and I just LOVE it. This is such an amazingly warm, loving and fun family. Daryl, Mia and I drove from our weekend fishing get-a-way in Port O'Connor to Victoria with Pawpaw and Nana (Daryl's parents/my in-laws/Mia's grandparents) for the Annual Gleinser Family Reunion. This was the very first family reunion I've ever been to. I've only seen them in movies. We had a BLAST...especially Mia...yes, cake was involved.

oh, here's a shot of the cake decorated with a photo of the very FIRST family reunion in 1912 or something

Meet Bessie, the oldest and most beautiful Gleinser. She turned 101 this past February

Here's Bessie when she was a little younger

Mia was the youngest Gleinser from Goliad (2 bros came from Austria...one settled in Victoria and the other in Goliad...hence the Victoria Gleinsers and the Goliad Gliensers) Here she is accepting her award :)

She was so eager to open up her shiny new silver dollar!!!

This is Maddy, the youngest Victoria Gleinser

here's that cake again

Paul decided to eat AJ (top left in the picture)

Paul sure was a character..I'm in love with him

who wouldn't fall in love pocket knife wielding, suspender wearing man?...he IS a Gleinser

everyone had a great time catchin up

over dominoes

and cards....

Charming Uncle Leo and Beautiful Aunt Mary in the background

I think these are the Victoria Gleinsers...they're a little confused...LOVE this shot

door prizes and auction items were donated by family members

This item makes me smile

a gorgeous quilt with shots of the, um Victoria Gleinsers...it went for over $200

I bid on a set of three pumpkins...got 'em for $12

Tom/Pawpaw bid and won a decorative pipe cover....Mia was enchanted :)

Here we are....the Goliad Gleinsers

(I'm fourth from the left...Daryl is behind me to the left and he's holding our Mia. To my right, in the white is Nana and the tall gentleman behind her is Pawpaw)

How fun! I love how "official" it all seems - which makes it seem extra special! Thanks for sharing!

What a beautiful set of future family heirlooms you have with these photos. Delightful.

101, and she is still beautiful.

It looks like you had a great time and love all the pictures. But truly, it can't be a reunion without the kid standing outside the park's outhouse naked while his mom cleans his bottom for all to watch. Oh wait, that's MY family reunions! Never a dull moment. :)

What a fun time! I've missed out on my last few family reunions. My cherubs have a 20-minute car ride tolerance.

What an awesome reunion! It really looks like a good time - and way bigger and more organized than any reunion I've ever been to!
